About Us
Allwave is an Italian brand, founded in 1987 by Italian artisan interested in fluid dynamics who applied their knowledge gained in windsurfing to the development and handcrafted construction of ocean craft. From outriggers to Olympic kayaks and surf skis, they pushed the boundaries aiming to create exceptional watercraft that in some cases are still revered today.
Our Australian Story
In 2018 Allwave Australia was established in Sydney. Stefano Pirrello, identified a gap in the market for high-performance, hand-crafted skis, decided to bring this prestigious Italian brand to Australian shores. Our goal was simple: to offer something different, something that combines both Italian craftsmanship and cutting-edge performance for paddlers of all levels.
Our Range of Skis
Allwave Australia began by introducing the DNA, an elite ski, the Nirvana, an entry-level ski, and the Mistral, a short, intermediate ski (5.2m). From there, we expanded our range with the introduction of the 590, 595, and 600 skis, all part of the RS family. We also launched the DNA580, available in both 43cm and 45cm widths, and the DNA640 with a 45cm beam and an extended cockpit to accommodate larger paddlers.
Our designs are built for performance, stability, and versatility, offering everything from world-class racing skis to recreational options for all paddling enthusiasts.
Allwave Australia Racing Team
Our dedication to performance extends beyond product development. We established the Allwave Australia Racing Team to compete at the highest level, featuring athletes who have gone on to achieve great success. At its peak, the team boasted athletes like Jackson Collins, a Paris 2024 silver medallist, twice Surf Life Saving Australian Champion, and 20 Beaches Champion, racing on the Allwave Australia DNA. Other notable athletes included Cade Barnes, Hannah Minogue (Nutrigain Champion, 5th in the World in Portugal 2022 on the DNA580), and Montannah Murray, who represented Australia at the highest international levels.
We also receive ongoing support from Daniel Collins, a four-time Olympian and bronze medallist in 1996, as well as silver medallist in Sydney 2000. Daniel has praised the DNA580, calling it a ski “for purists.”
Our Passion for Community
At Allwave Australia, we’re not just about providing top-tier skis—we’re about fostering a community of paddlers and sharing our passion for the water. Every year, we host paddling camps in Sardinia, where we invite Australians to experience the beauty of our homeland while training with expert coaches like Hannah Minogue. These camps offer a chance to enjoy breathtaking scenery, delicious local cuisine, and thrilling downwind paddles.
