Manly Warringah KayakClub (MWKC) is Sydney’s leading Paddling Community, representing an optimal Olympic pathway. MWKC is located in the Northern Beaches on the beautiful Narrabeen Lakes. MWKC charter is to promote and advance paddling in NSW and Australia. “Quite simply we connect like-minded people with the water within a safe environment”

As one of Australia’s largest Clubs, our Club members number in the hundreds however we Engage with *8,105 Paddlesport Members Nationally, as well as Volunteers & Supporters.

Manly Warringah Kayak Club (MWKC) is situated on the beautiful Narrabeen Lake at Berry Reserve. The club has around 240 members of all ages and abilities, from beginners to Gold Medal winning Olympians, they paddle a variety of craft from K1/K2/K4, C1 canoes, SLSC Spec and Ocean Skis.

We are primarily a racing club, with our members competing in events such as the Paddle NSW Marathon Series, Ocean Racing, Time Trials, Harbour and Sprint Series, and ultra-marathons like the Hawkesbury and Myall Classic. Some of our club champions have also dominated ocean races like The Doctor (WA), Australia Ocean Racing Series, 20 Beaches and Molokai Ocean races 

We have morning and afternoon training sessions, with paddlers who squeeze in a coffee or many also head straight into work in Manly, City, West and East. Our club house has a variety of public transport options including express buses in to the city.

Our club house has extensive facilities for members and club boat storage, along with Male and Females bathrooms that also meet the needs of disabled paddlers who can use their wheelchairs to the edge of Narrabeen Lake. We have extensive car parking facilities around and adjunct to the club.

The club has a proud history of producing athletes who have competed at the Olympic’s. These Olympians competed in Los Angeles, Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney, Athens, Beijing, London and Rio. Our youth development programs have seen a number of paddlers reach their goals, for some this includes NSW, Australian and Olympic representation.

New members only need to follow two simple steps: 

  • Schedule a new member interview with our Club Captain (on phone or in-person)
  • Sign up through the Paddle Australia Just Go membership portal to complete your Manly Warringah Kayak Club (MWKC) membership, which includes Paddle Australia & NSW memberships (further details below)

Membership with Paddle Australia (PA) and Paddle NSW (PNSW) is mandatory for all paddlers in NSW.  MWKC is affiliated with both PA and PNSW, hence our financial membership offers insurance coverage for club and paddling races (with exception of the Australia Ocean Racing Series).

Existing Members

Whether new, renewing or re-joining our club, please go to PA’s Just Go Membership portal to join or renew / re-join MWKC, PA and PNSW memberships in the one process.

Through PA the JustGo platform paddlers can: 

  • Purchase and register their membership (new and renewing/re-joining members)
  • Purchase and register PA & PNSW Membership
  • Purchase MWKC club merchandise
  • Purchase boat rack storage and shed entry key fob
  • Register your working with children check (for volunteers and coaches)

Boat Storage 

For members interested in boat storage, we offer rack allocations. Please contact the Club Captain or email [email protected] to for a boat rack allocation before paying for a space on PA’s JustGo Platform.
Our club has an extensive boat shed with storage for members’ boats and the many Club boats we have to offer.

Spaces are limited with a limit of 2 ski racks per member. Requests for more than two racks must be made in writing to the Board and are subject to availability.
